Double Bill: The City / Safe Word
September 2, 2016 @ 8:30 pm - 9:15 pm
Yup. Down the mean streets stuff happens. Exciting times. Frank wears a hat. Keeley loses her dog. But Security guy wants the quiet life. In City, overblown pulp noir meets improbable chess moves, and things get sorted, almost, except for standard issue unrequited love, and Frank still homeless, still walks those mean streets.
By Pippa Gladhill, award-winning writer, whose short fiction has been broadcast on Radio 4 and Radio 3, and theatre scripts performed at a number of venues including The Marlowe Studio, Canterbury, and Ustinov Studio, Bath.
A tale of older boy meets older girl in the digital age, with real ale and capes.
“…a laugh out loud funny script delving into the world of online dating.”
–Alexandra Wilbraham, Bath Chronicle
“…astute, witty and honest.”
